Step-by-Step Submission

Follow these four steps to submit your abstract through the congress portal.

Account & Profile Creation

Access the portal and log in. Your account is automatically locked as the Corresponding Author for every abstract you upload.

Select Category & Topic

Choose your format (Oral, E-Poster, or Video). Ensure your topic matches the category restrictions — e.g., Oral must be Chest Trauma or Hydatid Cyst only.

Input Content

For Oral/E-Poster: paste your structured text (Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusions). For Video: provide a concise 3-line description.

Verify & Final Submit

Use the preview tool to confirm author names and text render correctly, then click "Final Submit" before the August 15 deadline.

All submissions are reviewed blindly — reviewers have no access to author names or affiliations. Your work is evaluated on 4 standardized criteria:

Relevance

Clinical significance and interest of the topic to thoracic surgeons.

Methodology

Scientific rigor, study design, and data validity.

Clarity

Quality of writing, logical flow, and ease of understanding.

Practical Impact

Direct applicability, lessons learned, or clinical value to daily thoracic practice.

Final Presentation Assignment

Committee Decision

The Scientific Committee reserves the right to assign accepted work to the most appropriate format based on review scores:

Oral Communication — High-scoring oral abstract submissions
Commented E-Poster — Selected posters presented in front of a jury
Non-Commented E-Poster — Display-only digital posters
Commented Video — For all accepted video category submissions

Authors are notified by email. Accepted submissions receive their final presentation type assignment (Oral, Commented/Non-Commented E-Poster, or Commented Video).

Can I edit my abstract after submitting? +
Yes — you can save a draft and edit freely until you click "Final Submit". Once confirmed, the abstract is permanently locked. Use the preview tool to verify all content, author names, and formatting before clicking Final Submit.
How many abstracts can I submit as corresponding author? +
A maximum of 5 abstracts is allowed per corresponding author. Note that the submitting account is automatically locked as the corresponding author — you cannot reassign this role after submission.
Which topics can I submit as an Oral Communication? +
Oral Communication is restricted to two topics only: Chest Trauma and Chest Hydatid Cyst. Any other topic submitted under the Oral category will be reassigned to E-Poster by the committee. Please select carefully.
What do I submit for the Video category? +
For the Video category, do not write a full structured abstract. Instead, provide a short 3-line description of the video content and technique. The actual video file will be uploaded separately according to the portal's format specifications.
Is the review process blind? +
Yes. All submissions undergo blind peer review — reviewers have no access to author names or institutional affiliations. Work is scored on 4 criteria: Relevance, Methodology, Clarity, and Practical Impact.
What happens after my abstract is accepted? +
You will receive an email with your final presentation assignment: Oral Communication, Commented E-Poster, Non-Commented E-Poster, or Commented Video. The committee makes the final assignment based on review scores — your stated preference is taken into account but not guaranteed.
What file formats are accepted for presentation upload? +
Accepted formats: PPT, PPTX, PDF, and KEY. Maximum file size is 50 MB. Files are uploaded through the member portal after acceptance notification.
